52 Hayden Rowe | Hopkinton, Massachusetts

Hopkinton Massachusetts is located just about 30 miles southwest of Boston, and is famously known as the starting point for the Boston Marathon, held every April.

The Hopkinton Center Historic District, a local historic district which comprises properties around the Town Common, on East Main Street is picturesque with the look and feel of the quintessential New England village, and it's the center of many activities in Hopkinton.

Just down the street is 52 Hayden Rowe , located in the heart of Hopkinton.  This exquisite Italianate villa-like estate was built by Alonzo Coburn, a local boot and shoe factory owner, in the 1840’s. The Coburn House is representative of the thriving industries of the period and is reflective of the tastes and styles of the well-to-do of this era.

Well preserved and completely updated to meet the expectations of today’s most discriminating buyers, this home seamlessly combines old world elegance and architectural details with all the amenities of high end new construction.

The ten foot ceilings and a handcrafted stairwell command the attention of you guests as they enter into the dramatic foyer. The three story, handcrafted staircase leads to a cupola with a panoramic view of the neighborhood.

The living room features the original plaster ceiling medallion and decorative marble mantle.

The parlor features a wood burning stove.

Natural sunlight streams into the sunroom with it's floor to ceiling windows with antique glass.

A convenient first floor bedroom could also be used as an office.

Even the most finicky chef will drool over this amazing kitchen. Custom cabinetry enhanced with granite, as well as the exposed brick chimney and custom designed tiled mosaic over the cooktop makes this kitchen unique in every way. And of course, only the top of the line appliances that you would expect to find in a home of this calibre from SubZero, Thermador and Dacor. It's the little things that really count here - such as the glass front doors, basket drawers and concealed recycling units.

The family room is anchored by a dramatic floor to ceiling stone masonry fireplace. Soaring cathedral ceilings and a large built in entertainment and storage unit will make this room a centerpiece for your entertaining. The ash stained hardwood floors offer radiant heat. These floors were custom milled from an ash tree original to the property.

How about a game of billiards? The game room is a former ballet studio, converted into a game room in 2006. Plenty of room for all of your toys, plus a fitness area and a half bath. Of course the centerpiece is a home theatre. All you need to bring is the popcorn!

A staircase leads to a cozy two bedroom apartment, or home office on the second level. Newly carpeted, it also features a spacious skylit bedroom with a balcony, with a staircase leading to the backyard.

The master bedroom is your special hideaway, boating 10' ceilings and the original exposed brick chimney, which has been painted white.

The therapeutic bath with beautiful granite decking as well as the custom designed shower enhanced with glass doors will make this room feel like your own private spa. And of course tile flooring with radiant heat to keep your feet toasty warm.

The stairway leads to the cupola, a 7 x 7 foot space with panoramic views of the neighborhood.
