To be successful in video marketing, you have to understand your AUDIENCE. Who are you talking to? Who are you making this video for? What problems do they need to solve? What questions do they have?
Most importantly, you have to understand WHERE they search. Is it Google? YouTube? Facebook? Instagram? What are they searching as they attempt to gather information online?
Once you understand this, you can then search for keywords and phrases that they would use, so you can use those same search terms in your video description to help people FIND your video. Of course, they also find YOU at the same time! If you do this correctly, when a viewer sees your video, it will cement you as the “go to” agent in that market.
WHERE you put your video matters as well. Social media…… Facebook, Instagram, Instagram Reels, TikTok, etc, is where consumers discover content BY ACCIDENT. Clearly there is some value in that, but it’s not the same as a platform where consumers go to specifically search out video content like “things to do in Concord” “homes in 02131 near the Orange Line” or “condos near McKinley High School” which is by and large Google and YouTube, not TikTok and Instagram.
This is why we put all of your listing videos on the MLS. Buyers are looking for specific things on real estate websites and the IDX feed (MLS), and you definitely want your video front and center. The same is true of Zillow – your video appears after the photos on Zillow – the #1 real estate site that buyers use. Love Zillow or hate them, that is the reality.
THE #1 place people look for properties or agents is Google. Someone types into the search engine what they are specifically looking for, and they are off to the races. But they START their search on Google.
Did you know YouTube is owned by Google (and therefore gets great placement on all Google searches) and is the 2nd largest search engine behind Google, even though it’s technically NOT a search engine? This is why we upload your video to YouTube at no charge – our YouTube channel currently has over 32,000 subscribers and you will get lots of exposure – fast!
If you are just beginning to use video marketing in your business, or if you are a seasoned pro that isn’t getting the attention, you need to pay attention to who you are trying to attract, the questions and concerns they have and how you can help. Create valuable content, optimize it for the correct keywords of what people are searching FOR, and you ideal client will find YOU.
