Fred began designing websites and online marketing for Realtors® back in 1998 before most agents even owned computers! Late in 2004, in an effort to help his clients differentiate themselves from their competitors, he decided to offer video “walk through” tours. At that time, offering video online was nearly impossible, not to mention it was about the size of a postage stamp.
The technology was confusing and most people couldn’t view it with their dial-up connections. But in a confluence of good luck in 2005, YouTube appeared on the scene, the technology got sorted out, and broadband became the norm rather than the exception. The real estate market began to tank in 2006, and agents were looking for any way they could to help sell properties. Since that time Fred has personally shot and edited over 10,000 video tours throughout New England, from 2 bedroom condos to $20M dollar estates.
Long considered a leader and innovator in real estate video in the United States, Fred has been invited to speak on real estate video at several national real estate conventions on both coasts (Inman Connect), as well as numerous local Realtor® associations. In 2007, Fred was featured nationally on the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric in a major story on real estate video. He has also been interviewed twice in VideoMaker Magazine, a publication geared towards videographers, as well as an appearance on National Public Radio (NPR) and numerous podcasts about video production.
Fred is also an FAA Part 107 Certified Commercial Drone Pilot. In his spare time, he hones his photography and video skills in such far-flung locales such as Iceland, Patagonia, Antarctica, The Galapagos Islands, South Africa, The Azores, and Costa Rica.
